Scottoil Biodegradable Green is, as the name implies, is both green in colour and green in nature. It offers an environmentally friendly option for refilling any Scottoiler, as it naturally biodegrades quickly and completely within 28 days after use. It comes in a recyclable clear plastic PET bottle and reuses the filling spout supplied with every Scottoiler kit.
It is made from a blend of vegetable based oils developed to equally protect your chain & sprockets and our environment. It is fully compatible with the current blue and red grades of Scottoil, meaning it’s possible to top up with the new product at any time. It also has a wider ambient operating temperature range than previous Scottoils, meaning there is no need to swap grades as the seasons change or for touring across different climates.
All Scottoil fluids are specifically developed for the brand’s chain oilers, ensuring the best protection and performance available. They contain only 5% of the tack additive of traditional chain lube, so the bike is always easy to clean. Crucially, it also means the chain & sprockets do not retain dirt, which can turn into a black ‘grinding paste’, common when traditional chain lube is not regularly cleaned off and reapplied.
